Peter joined Cousineau, VanBergen, McNee & Malone, P.A. in early 2017.  Prior to joining the firm, Peter practiced law at a small insurance defense law firm in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.

Peter has over six years of civil litigation experience focusing on personal injury, property damage, subrogation, and insurance coverage litigation.  He is admitted in Minnesota, U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.  Peter has significant experience with pretrial litigation, discovery and depositions, no-fault arbitrations, and motion practice.  The bulk of his practice is focused on motor vehicle accident litigation, as well as premises liability, commercial trucking, dramshop, and aviation litigation.

Peter has spoken at CLEs on aviation law and insurance law, and has had articles published in the Southern Methodist University Journal of Air Law & Commerce and Minnesota Defense. 

Peter is a graduate of St. Olaf College and the William Mitchell College of Law.  Prior to law school Peter worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and he interned for the U.S. Department of Justice Executive Office for Immigration Review during law school.

  • Peter second chaired a successful jury trial on a motor vehicle accident claim in early 2012.
  • Peter successfully argued before the Minnesota Court of Appeals in 2015 on a breach of contract and auctioneer’s liability action in 2015.
